Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services receives the first batch of ambulances provided by Khalaf Al Habtoor

This morning, Wednesday, October 14, His Excellency Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, Founding Chairman of Al Habtoor Group, met His Excellency Humaid Mohamed Obaid Alqatami, Director General of Dubai Health Authority and Chairman of Dubai Ambulance Board, His Excellency Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, and His Excellency Khalifa Hassan Al Drai, the Executive Director of Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services, in Al Habtoor City, in order to deliver 18 ambulances to Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services with an amount of AED 7,520,500. In attendance were the press and various dignitaries.

In total, 50 ambulances are the first batch of advanced equipped ambulances provided by the Al Habtoor Group, in support of the first line of defense to achieve its mission on the pre-hospital care of patients, tightening preventive and precautionary measures, and strengthening the principles of emergency medicine in the time of the COVID-19 pandemic.

It should be noted that 14 ambulances (the second batch), with an amount of AED 7,324,000, will be delivered in 2021, and 18 ambulances (the third batch), with an amount of AED 7,586,500, will be delivered in 2022. Therefore, the total value of ambulances is close to AED twenty-two million five hundred thousand.

His Excellency Alqatami was pleased to this great support and expressed his great appreciation to the businessman Khalaf Al Habtoor for his generous and appreciated initiative. He pointed out that it is not unusual for the loyal men of UAE. He also pointed out that UAE is full of men and national personalities who are aware of their responsibilities towards society and towards people, as well as the value of alignment in meeting the challenges. UAE is also keen on doing it with its full available power.

His Excellency Khalifa Al Drai, Executive Director, expressed his profound gratitude and appreciation to Al Habtoor Group for its support for the first line of defense in Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services. He pointed out that that this is an extension of the humanitarian and societal contributions that His Excellency Khalaf Al Habtoor has always been very keen to provide, especially at this important juncture in the history of UAE and the world. This step provides great support for major efforts made in UAE, under the guidelines issued by the World Health Organization confront the emerging corona virus “Covid-19” and prevent the spread thereof.

Al Drai stressed that the cooperation and coordination between the State and private sectors comes under the implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, "may Allah protect him", the keenness of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, and his follow-up of the activation and strengthening of this partnership in order to provide care and rapid response, raise service capacity and improve its ability to provide pre-hospital care for patients. He pointed out that the received ambulances include specialized units, including the People of Determination Transport Unit, the Heart Care Unit, the Infection Control Unit, the Emergency Response Unit, an emergency doctor, the advanced first responder and gynecologist.

Al Drai explained that this support stem from the patriotism of all Emirati citizens, at a time when the major public figures are the greatest examples of the value of standing firmly alongside all efforts aimed at ensuring the safety, security and health of all members of society.

His Excellency Khalaf Al Habtoor expressed his pride in the UAE's performance in overcoming the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic and the great role that the first line of defense played during this period in all difficult stages, adding: "Our dear country/beloved nation has a right on all of us, the least we can do is to stand together in facing the dangers of the epidemic that threaten the security, safety and health of our community". He pointed out that the support from the provision of ambulances is the contribution of Al Habtoor Group to prevent risks to society and to make the UAE the model and example in providing the highest levels of security, health and safety for everyone who lives on this good land. He also pointed out that difficult situations could not undermine the firm resolve of the people of this great nation.
