Al Habtoor Group (AHG) has issued the following statement:
Al Habtoor Group (AHG) respects Azadea Group’s decision to close Le Mall-Sin El Fil due to the deteriorating economic situation in Lebanon. This decision is at the sole discretion of Azadea Group, as investor of the mall. This is a decision taken by the Azadea Group’s management and is not related to the rent of the premises.
Furthermore, Le Mall’s closure has nothing to do with the hotels owned by AHG in Beirut. Under the directions of Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, Founding Chairman of Al Habtoor Group, there have been no layoffs at Hilton Beirut Habtoor Grand and Hilton Beirut Metropolitan Palace. AHG continues to pay the employees’ salaries in full, as Mr. Al Habtoor is fully aware of the hardships that the Lebanese people are currently undergoing.
