Al Habtoor Group (AHG) and the Community Development Authority (CDA) in Dubai, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), to enhance strategic cooperation and services between the leading business group and the social development entity.

The MoU was signed by Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, Founding Chairman of Al Habtoor Group, and Ahmed Abdul Karim Mohammed Julfar, Director General of CDA, at the AHG Head Office in Dubai. Mohammad Khalaf Al Habtoor, Vice-Chairman and CEO of the Group, attended the signing event.

The new agreement will propel the quality of local services offered to senior citizens, people of determination and other beneficiaries of CDA’s financial empowerment programmes, with the aim of enhancing overall quality of life. It will also encourage them to get more involved in their communities and help them better integrate into society

Under the agreement, the CDA beneficiaries will be eligible to receive valuable discounts and exclusive offers at hotels, restaurants and health clubs under the Habtoor Hospitality division of AHG. They can also avail discounts on apartments for sale, and easy payment facilities.

Khalaf Al Habtoor said: “Many countries and communities neglect their senior citizens and people of determination, who end up on the margins of society. But the UAE has always been at the forefront of citizen care, provisioning resources and offering them the right support and services. I am delighted to sign this MoU on behalf of the Al Habtoor Group with CDA and are ready to take any action to enhance the happiness, positivity and inclusion of our citizens.”

Praising the initiative, Ahmed Julfar noted that public and private sector cooperation is the best way to achieve sustainable social development, spread happiness among community members and encourage the inclusion of marginalised sections of society. He added that private sector investment in community services displayed their altruistic policies, reflecting a positive image of the respective companies.

Julfar added: “We are delighted to cooperate with Al Habtoor Group, which has always been a pioneering model of community service in the UAE. The agreement is an important step towards improving the services provided to CDA beneficiaries. We call upon all major institutions and businesses in Dubai to follow AHG’s lead and do their bit towards community development. This would enable us to reach out to wider categories of people, help and support them and raise them to a better quality of life.”
