EIS schools celebrate remarkable graduation days at glittering city venue

Emirates International School (EIS) branches celebrated their graduation ceremonies at stunning, one-of-a-kind events on 19th June, marking the successful completion of schooling by 171 students.

Graduating students of EIS Meadows and EIS Jumeirah, their families and friends were in for a surprise as they were welcomed at La Perle, the region’s first and famed aqua theatre venue located in Al Habtoor City. The students took their graduation walk around the spectacular stage and pool inside the theatrical venue, to accept their certificates during the glittering events.

51 students from EIS – Meadows marked the school’s first full IB graduation — the first batch of students to successfully complete the schools’ PYP, MYP and DP under the IB curriculum. EIS – Jumeirah — the first IB school in Dubai established 1991 that has seen 1,700 students successfully graduate — held its 26th graduation event this time. This cohort, its largest graduating class so far comprising 120 students of 28

nationalities, completed the IB diploma or the career-related programme. Of these students, 25 per cent have studied at the school since kindergarten.

The graduation days recognised the consistent efforts and outstanding achievements of EIS’ students, as well as their placements at leading international universities. Graduating students from EIS – Meadows have received offers from prestigious international schools such as the London School of Economics, King’s College London, Concordia University, Boston University, and George Washington University. EIS – Jumeirah students have bagged placements at Georgia Tech, University of California Berkeley, King’s College London, Imperial College London, and McGill University.

Aneeha Bajpai of EIS – Meadows was awarded the Khalaf Al Habtoor Award for Academic Excellence, for her outstanding academic achievement throughout the two-year Outstanding IB Diploma Programme. Anannya Sivakumar delivered the valedictorian speech at the ceremony.
