Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, Founding Chairman, Al Habtoor Group welcomed with His Excellency Ludovic Pouille, Ambassador of France to the UAE at the Al Habtoor Group headquarters. It was the first official meeting between Chairman Al Habtoor and His Excellency Ludovic Pouille, who have previously met at the International Defence Exhibition & Conference (IDEX) in Abu Dhabi in January 2019.
Chairman Al Habtoor and HE Ludovic Pouille discussed the current economic situation in the UAE and Dubai as well as the issues surrounding regional peace and the geo-political turbulences around the world. The Ambassador stressed the importance of mutual cooperation to improve all sectors of the global economy, highlighting that the world needs peace and stability to prosper.
HE Ludovic Pouille informed Al Habtoor that there are 25,000 French citizens currently residing in Dubai, representing the largest French community in an Arab city in the Middle East. “French expats enjoy living and working in Dubai. Everyone is here by choice.” said the French Ambassador.
Khalaf Al Habtoor touched on the importance of bilateral relations between the UAE and China.
Al Habtoor said, “Mutual investments between the UAE and China has achieved significant leaps and stimulated growth in key sectors of the economy. In addition to retail trade and wholesale, we have seen significant Chinese investments in real estate, construction, tech, transportation, telecom, financial services, and manufacturing industries.”
In the meeting, the French Ambassador was accompanied by Her Excellency Raja Rabia, Consul General of France to Dubai and Laura Torrebruno, Economic Counsellor - Head of Economic Department. Also present was Rashid Al Habtoor, President & CEO, Al Habtoor Trading Enterprises, Sanjeev Agarwala, Chief Operating Officer, Real Estate & Investments, Al Habtoor Group, Hadi Al Kadi, General Consul, Al Habtoor Group and Noura Badawi, Chief Communications Officer, Al Habtoor Group.
