HE Kees van Spronsen, Consul General of the Netherlands in Dubai and the Northern Emirates was welcomed in the Al Habtoor Group Headquarters when he came to meet with its chairman Mr Khalaf Al Habtoor.

Mr. Kees VA van Spronsen, who has a Master’s degree in Law and Political Science, has occupied throughout his career, different political and diplomatic posts, in the Netherlands embassies around the world and ministries back home, until 2007, when he was appointed High Commissioner in consulate of Netherlands in Dubai and the Northern Emirates.

The purpose of the visit to Mr. Al Habtoor’s office is to further strengthen the ties between the Netherlands and the UAE. In 2008, The Dutch Consul General Kees van Spronsen said trade between the Netherlands and the UAE amounted to 1.3 billion euros in 2007, which is "a very good mirror of the economic activities between the two countries.

Mr. Al Habtoor and the Dutch Consul General conferred over the bilateral economic cooperation between the two nations and the NFIA’s vocation in the region.

The Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency (NFIA) which currently operates from its office in Dubai, helps and advises foreign companies wanting to take advantage of the Dutch business environment.
