Khalaf Al-Habtoor Awqaf Building for Low-income People at Al Quoz Fourth at a Cost of 19Million Dhs
Khalaf Al-Habtoor opened Khalaf Al-Habtoor Awqaf Bulding for low-income people at Al Quoz Fourth whose cost amounted to 19 million dirhams. He was accompanied by Hussein al-Qamzi, chairman of the Awqaf and Minor Affairs Foundation and Tayeb Abdel Rahman Rais, Secretary-General of the foundation in Dubai and a number of senior officials of the foundation.
Khalaf Al-Habtoor said that this contribution helped promoting awareness about Awqaf and sustaining efforts to revive this good practice among all categories of society. He added that it outlined an honorable image of the humanitarian and social goals that were being realized by developing Awqaf, diversifying their expenses and creating new expenses that meet the needs of all segments of society.
Mr Al-Habtoor went on to say that Awqaf is one of the fundamental features of social and economic structure of the Islamic world for its role in fighting poverty and democratizing prosperity. He stated that Awqaf was a long-term charitable investment dimension that extends to many generations and contributes to the development of human as well as financial resources calling on philanthropists, businessmen and all segments of society to contribute to these charitable projects. Mr Al-Habtoor added “we will work, in cooperation with the foundation, in order to exploit all available means, whether financial or in kind, to develop the Awqaf and rehabilitate minors in a contemporary economic style.”
At the end of his tour, Mr Al-Habtoor thanked the foundation for its efforts and role in the development and management of Awqaf, and called on philanthropists and all components of society to contribute more to these charitable fields.
It is worth mentioning that the foundation completed one of the three residential projects for low-income people on a total area of 23000 square feet, with 90339 square feet allocated to the building that consists of three floors with a total of 66 apartments: 6 studios, 30 apartments composed of one room and a lounge, and 30 apartments composed of two rooms and a lounge.
