Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, Founding Chairman, Al Habtoor Group, welcomed a committee from the Zayed Charity Marathon at his Majlis on Al Wasl Road. The committee included Lt. General Mohammed Hilal Al Kaabi, Head of the organizing committee and Colonel Mohammed Ali Amer, General Coordinator of Zayed Charity Marathon. Also present was Mohammed Al Habtoor, Vice Chairman and CEO, Al Habtoor Group (AHG); Ahmed Al Habtoor, CEO, Al Habtoor Motors; Mohammed Al Mazooei, Executive Director, AHG; Ziad Ida, Director, Community Relations & Safety, AHG, and Abdul Salam Al Marzooqi, General Manager, Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor Foundation.
General Mohammed Hilal Al Kaabi and Chairman Al Habtoor discussed the success of the 12th Zayed Charity Marathon in New York which took place on 14 May 2016 where the Al Habtoor Group was the official sponsor. The proceeds of the marathon went to the Healthy Kidney Foundation, a specialized hospital for kidney research and treatment in the US.
Al Habtoor, who was present at the New York event, said he was impressed with the organization and turnout of the 5 and 10 kilometre run. The Chairman, who supports many sports initiatives and other charitable events around the world said, “I was proud to sponsor the New York event. It is named after the late Founding Father of the United Arab Emirates. It was an opportunity to showcase the UAE in the West. There was a majlis set up in Central Park where many different nationalities gathered to support the marathon, and sample Arab hospitality.”
General Mohammed Hilal Al Kaabi invited Chairman Al Habtoor to attend the next Zayed Charity Marathon which will take place in Cairo on 16 December 2016.
Al Habtoor said, “The Zayed Charity Marathon has been running for more than a decade, and I will continue to support the good work carried out by the committee.”
