Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor Meets Delegation from Al Busaiteen Club

Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, Chairman, Al Habtoor Group welcomed a delegation from the Al Busaiteen Club at the Al Habtoor Group head office on Sunday 1 May, 2016.

The delegation from the Bahrain-based sports and cultural club included Yahya Ali Al Mujadami, Chairman of the Board of Directors; Nabeel Abdul Rahman Mohammed, General Secretary and Khaled Mohammed Jowder, Member of the Board of Directors. Also present was Mohammed Al Habtoor, Vice-Chairman and CEO, Al Habtoor Group; Ziad Ida, Director, Community Relations & Safety; Abdul Salam Al Marzooqi, General Manager, Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor Foundation.

Al Busaiteen Club was established in 1948 to promote sports and culture in Bahrain. It also has a humanitarian program to support a healthy living.

The delegation praised Chairman Al Habtoor for his support of sports and culture in the GCC and presented him with a Letter of Appreciation and a copy of the Holy Quran.

Al Habtoor said, “Sports helps us promote a healthy life style. The UAE and wider region regularly hosts global sporting events and has shown it can compete on a global scale. Clubs like Al Busaiteen help promote the region to the rest of the world.”

Al Habtoor has long supported tennis and basketball in the UAE.  The Chairman founded the Al Habtoor Tennis Challenge, now in its 19th year, to encourage the development of women’s tennis. The Al Habtoor Group has also supported the UAE Basketball Association for several years. The Group is also behind a new equestrian centre in DubaiLand, due to open later this year. The Al Habtoor Polo Resort & Club will will have more than 500 state of the art stables and offer various equestrian disciplines including polo, dressage, show jumping and traditional riding. The equestrian resort will incorporate Dubai’s second St. Regis hotel and luxury villas.
