The Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor Foundation (KAHF) has committed a AED 2 million donation to INDEMAJ, an NGO under the Royal Patronage and Leadership of HRH Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein, the wife of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE, Ruler of Dubai.
Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor Foundation established a partnership with INDEMAJ on Tuesday August 4, 2015 to implement 12 Learning and Development Centres (LRC) in Government schools across the United Arab Emirates (UAE). INDEMAJ’s LRC projects are based on establishing resource centres within schools where students get the opportunity to develop the educational skills that they need for the 21st century.
The LRCs are equipped with sophisticated modern technology and resources which enable students to benefit from active and collaborative learning aimed at enhancing their learning through exciting and challenging mediums. The LRC projects also include a comprehensive training program for teachers with the objective of empowering them with skills for implementing essential modern inclusive teaching practices. The projects have a special focus on supporting students with learning difficulties, and supporting the development of government schools in rural areas of the UAE.
Dr. Jamal Al Mehairy, Vice Chairperson, INDEMAJ, expressed his gratitude to the Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor Foundation for its support, and stated that the generous contribution will pay for the cost of the implementation of the projects, which are estimated to benefit more than 6,000 students and 500 teachers.
