Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor receives the new French Consul General to Dubai

The Chairman of the Al Habtoor Group, Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor welcomed the new French Consul General to Dubai, His Excellency Majdi Abed. The meeting took place at the Al Habtoor Group head office on Al Wasl Road on Monday September 22, 2014.

HE Abed was recently appointed as French Consul General in Dubai, replacing HE Eric Giraud-Telme. Prior to his post his was Deputy Director of Communications at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development in Paris. He joined the Foreign Ministry in 1998, and has vast experience in Middle Eastern affairs. His previous positions include stints in Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

They discussed the business community in the Dubai in general and the abundance of new projects in the city, including the Group’s projects. Al Habtoor also discussed the improved economic climate in the United Arab Emirates. “The UAE is a land of opportunity. The economy is strong, our leaders have clear vision, and we at the Al Habtoor Group continue to grow with our country. I encourage more French companies to come and do business here.”

Al Habtoor said, “It was a pleasure meeting His Excellency Majdi Abed. We have always had a good relations with the French. We look forward to future collaboration.”

The Al Habtoor Group is currently building a new landmark in Dubai – Al Habtoor City, a multi-use development which will include three-five star hotels on one plot (St. Regis, Westin and W hotel), three residential towers, a marina on the Dubai Water Canal, a European-style boulevard and a permanent Franco Dragone Entertainment water-themed production.
