Al Habtoor Motors appoints new Executive Director

04-AUG-2014

Al Habtoor Motors (AHM) announced the promotion of Roma Andrews to the role of Executive Director – Al Habtoor Motors. Ms Andrews joined the automotive division of the Al Habtoor Group in 1993 and has since played a key role in spearheading the Human Resources functions.

The promotion is part of the Group’s cohesive strategy to continue driving growth in all sectors of its operations –hospitality, automotive, car leasing, real estate, education, and publishing.

Mohammed Al Habtoor, CEO and Vice-Chairman of the Al Habtoor Group said, “One of the greatest challenges to an organisation is securing business continuity at a time of rapid growth and change. With new announcements coming in 2014/2015 and the preparation for Dubai’s Expo 2020, we are confident that our businesses are well equipped with highly energetic and professional senior management teams.”

Within the new role, the Executive Director will directly oversee the operational side of the automotive business, including Marketing, Customer Retention Management, Technical and Diagnostics and IT. Additionally, Ms Andrews will continue to retain her responsibilities over the Human Resources and Management Services functions, overseeing more than 1,550 employees across the UAE.

Karl Hamer, Managing Director – Al Habtoor Motors said, “I am very pleased with Ms Andrews’ promotion and her new role will allow me to focus more on revenue generating functions and expanding the AHM business.” He added “Ms Andrews has been with the company for over 21 years and her dedication and commitment to the company has been exemplary for all to see. The growth opportunities of Al Habtoor Motors, together with the recent opening of the new Mitsubishi showroom in Abu Dhabi, new Mitsubishi showroom planned for Al Ain in October of this year, and the new brands acquired through 2013 and 2014 have created the need for a new senior director in the company.”

Ms Andrews started her career 21 years ago in the UAE backed by 15 years of Human Resources experience working for a leading foreign bank in India. Ms Andrews commented, “I feel honoured and humbled with the trust bestowed on me by the Al Habtoor Group management and the AHM Board. Operations form the heart of any organisation and the role will focus on sustaining efficiency. The primary objective of course will be to maximize stakeholder’s value with an aggressive eye on cost - using minimum resources to achieve maximum output with ‘quality’ as key.”

Al Habtoor Motors has been one of the leading companies in the UAE’s automotive market since 1983. The business has expanded rapidly in recent years, adding new car brands to its growing portfolio, as well as exclusive distribution deals with three global tire makers. ‘We strive, you drive’ captures the very essence of the company and its service performance, which has placed excellence, innovation and technical expertise at its very core.
