Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor welcomes news of daily Emirates Airline flights to Budapest

15-JUL-2014

Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, Chairman of the Al Habtoor Group today welcomed news of daily flight to Budapest from Emirates Airlines. The UAE flag carrier announced on July 14 that it will launch daily flights to the Hungarian capital effective from October 27, 2014.  Emirates Airline said it will be offering a daily service with 278 seats available on the Dubai-Budapest route, operating a wide-body A330-200 aircraft in a two class configuration.

“I am pleased Emirates has added Budapest to its international route,” Al Habtoor said. “It is a wonderful city that is full of culture, and a rich past. I encourage visitors from Dubai to visit the city, and vice versa.”

Hungarian nationals now have the added benefit from a visa-on-arrival in Dubai. The announcement from Emirates coincided with news it is opening of a Customer Contact Centre in Budapest from October.

Al Habtoor said, “This will help support Hungary’s economy and provide hundreds of jobs there.”

Al Habtoor recently added a second hotel in the Hungarian capital Budapest to his growing international portfolio.  Earlier this month he announced the purchase of the InterContinental Budapest for an undisclosed sum. The hotel has more than 400 rooms and suites, and boasts panoramic views across the Danube River. This follows the 2012 purchase of the historic Le Méridien Budapest.
